The Caribbean Queen Falls To Our Very Own Joe Atkinson
This 47lb 4oz Mirror known as the Caribbean Queen was the reward for our very own Joe Atkinson, after he re-focused his attention on his local Essex Syndicate water.
Re-visiting Bayeswater, having only fished it a handful of times over the past three years, Joe was rewarded with the lakes biggest resident, in what was a memorable, triumphant return to the water!
Joe commented saying…
‘Not having fished the lake a great deal in the past three years, I decided this year I was going to fish it properly.
I couldn’t help but think the next fish out might be one of the big girls, little did I know that it would be me hooking one of them!
Just into dark, while making tea, one of my alarms sounded and the bobbin pulled up tight against the rod and into the alarm, it was soon picked up. With what first felt like a dead weight kitting towards me, I wasn’t exactly sure what I was attached too!’
After a tense fight in the margins I eventually scooped the net under the big girl and soon realised it was a new personal best and a proper look in the net, revealed the beast in all it’s glory.
I was absolutely buzzing, what a dream start to my campaign and what a fish!’
Joe baited with 2kg of Sticky Krill Boilies on a clear spot amid weed and used size 6 ESP Curve Shanx Hooks and Atomic Jel-E-Wyre Hooklength.
