KING OF THE CATCH 2017 - WINNERS!

The waiting is finally over and the results are in. All the votes have been counted and verified, and we’re now able to announce the five winners and five runners up of King of the Catch 2017!

Before we do, we’d like to thank everyone who entered and voted in this year’s competition. You’ve really made this year the biggest King of the Catch to date. This year was a very closely fought competition and you all showed your social media skills by promoting your catch to the world.

Now for the moment of truth… the winners of King of the Catch 2017 are…

Carp Winner Yordan Todorov won the carp category with a whopping 760 votes. In 2017 Yordan and a friend will be flying off to Hungary, for a fantastic week of carp fishing at Lake Paradise.

Carp Runner Up With 552 votes Adrian Good was just piped to the post. £1,000 of Angling Direct vouchers, valid in-store and online, will soon be winging their way to him.

Predator Winner Sean Cully will be heading off to Thailand for ten days, with five days guided fishing with Francois, the original and most famous fishing guide in the country! He received 559 votes to clinch this category.

Predator Runner Up Wesley Sloane will be receiving a £1,000 Angling Direct voucher, to spend either in-store or online. He received 413 votes to clinch second place.

Coarse Winner Jason Elliot received 480 votes to win this category. He’ll be enjoying a fully hosted Canadian sturgeon fishing trip.

Coarse Runner Up With 423 votes, Abby Blackwell finished a close second. £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers will be headed her way shortly.

Sea Winner Paul Jones finished in front of the sea fishing category, with 373 votes. He’ll be headed to Merfjord, Norway for his Sportquest sea fishing holiday.

Sea Runner Up Paul Shemmings finished second with 171 votes. He’ll soon be enjoying £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers, to spend in-store or online.

Junior Winner Dylan Proudman is our youngest recipient of this holiday of a lifetime prize, and he won with a whopping 942 votes, the most amount of votes in any category. Along with his parent or guardian, he’ll be enjoying a week on the Ebro in Spain next year!

Junior Runner Up Matthew Cox managed an impressive 687 votes to finish second, so he’ll be able to enjoy spending a whopping £1,000 worth of Angling Direct vouchers!

We’d like to wish all our winners and runners up huge congratulations! Thanks to all 1,450 anglers who entered this year’s competition. You all did an outstanding job promoting your entries and received almost 17,500 votes between you.
