Spring into the new season in complete bankside luxury!

There are two very key dates in Trakker’s calendar: March and September. The latter is when they drop their Autumn/Winter range and March - is when we get to see whats on offer in their Spring/Summer collection, and first up is their bankside comfort items.

RLX Flat-6 Superlite Bed We live in a world where things are getting bigger, more powerful, and in the case of bankside bedding, more comfortable, every day. Okay, Crème Eggs and Mars bars are definitely getting smaller, but these days it would appear to have comfort whilst you sleep under the stars, you have to have bulk and weight.

It’s refreshing, then, to see that Trakker have a new bed for us all this spring which focuses on the brand’s original ethos of comfort and lightness.

The Big Questions…

How light’s light? 6.5kg light. So what’s that, super light-light when compared to the brand’s top-end Levelite Bed which weighs 9.6kgs? Or, to put it another way, it’s more than 100% lighter than some of their competitors’ beds.

Gee, that is light. But doesn’t lightweight equal zero comfort? Don’t be daft. In terms of footprint, it measures 214 x 78cm – which is the same length as their Levelite and only 10cm smaller across the shoulders. It lays totally flat – like a witch’s tit flat – has a large, deep padded mattress, and a new roped mid-section to offer additional lumbar support – a feature which isn’t indigenous with cheaper, lighter beds.


Okay, so it’s clearly light, and according to you, comfortable, but will it last longer than one season? Of course. By using a blend of aluminium and stainless steel, Trakker have not only managed to keep the weight down without sacrificing strength, they’ve actually increased it thanks to using a new oval-gauge construction.

The big question: can I fit my sleeping bag inside it? Hell, yes. By using their now tried and tested hinged mechanism, it means the Flat-6 Superlite will comfortably fold and close flat with a winter bag in place. It’s even freestanding when in this position.

Awesome. What are the figures like? When closed it measures 76(L) x 78cm(W), meaning it’ll comfortably fit into all boots. It’s a six-leg design with individually adjustable legs for maximum stability. It’s endured 12-months of rigorous testing. And it retails for around £179.99.
