Trakker Elements Jacket - Wednesday Review

With the weather being as unpredictable as it is during the British Summer, packing the right attire is essential to keeping yourself warm and dry to continue fishing. Trakker designed the Elements Jacket for the anglers on the bank desperate for a lightweight, breathable, and waterproof all-season jacket.

Manufactured from 10,000mm waterproof and 5000mm breathable nylon, this Trakker jacket is 100% waterproof and exceptionally breathable. There’s no doubt that this jacket will keep you dry in even the wettest of conditions. This jacket has been expertly designed to ensure that airflow, with zipped mesh pit vents, to allow for increased airflow in the under-arm area, ensuring that you can maintain a comfortable temperature at all times.

The Elements Jacket is made with an interlocking rip-stop material. This ensures that a sharp reaction movement won’t cause the jacket to rip or tear, enabling you to move confidently at all times utilising your full range of movement. The internal lining of the jacket is constructed from a smooth material, ensuring that it won’t snag on your t-shirt or underlayers. In fact, this jacket has been constructed to be extra-large to allow for easy and comfortable layering in the winter season. Trakker would suggest taking the generous sizing into consideration when purchasing this jacket. Luckily Angling Direct carry a range of sizes for you to pick from and you can also visit a local AD to try on clothing.

Additionally, the Elements jacket has a number of air-trapping features to keep you toasty warm in the coldest of angling conditions. It works well in both rain or shine! An extended back length keeps unwanted draughts off your back and is especially useful when you are sat with your back exposed to the wind.

The cuffs of the jacket are Velcro-adjustable and have inner fleece-lined neoprene sleeves to trap warm air in and keep damp and draughts out. The collar of the jacket is also fleece lined and the jacket features a chin guard to stop cold air entering the jacket around your neck. The hood is toggle-adjustable, removable, and is also fleece-lined for increased heat retention. This hood also features a storm peak, to ensure that visibility isn’t impaired in wet conditions. The main zip is protected by storm flaps to ensure that cold air doesn’t penetrate down the centre of the jacket.

The jacket also has a plethora of pockets in which you can store all your vital angling essentials. One of these pockets is internal and perfect for the storage of your wallet or mobile phone, and two of the external pockets are fleece lined to keep your hands warm whilst you’re waiting for a fish to take.
