Trakker Sanctuary Cradle - Tackle Tuesday

The top priority of carp anglers is to ensure that their catch goes through as little stress and injury as possible when temporarily removing them from their watery homes for an unhooking and weigh-in. To keep a fish as safe as possible when on land, you need to equip yourself with something for them to lay on that minimised the risk of both damage and stress which can shorten a fish's life.

Trakker has the ideal solution for bankside safety with its Sanctuary Cradle. A cradle is a perfect option for conscious anglers, so they can be assured that their catch is as safe as possible. Unlike a flat unhooking mat, the cradle provides a safe haven off of the often sharp, lumpy backside terrain. It also ensures there are walls to which holds the fish in place so they can not cause harm to themselves when wriggling or possible flipping off of a mat. A cradle helps keep your carp still, carp and wet and the water will all move to the centre as this will be where the fish is weighing the material down.

The Trakker cradle is constructed from fish-friendly and easy to clean rugged 420D PVC material, creating a waterproof temporary holdall for the fish so water can be held with the fish to ensure a calm sanctuary. Perfect for the warmer, sunnier days where the light can distress a fish, the cradle sports a solid internal cover which can be used to retain water in the cradle or to cover the fish. This cover limits drying out the fish and cause much less stress.

The Sanctuary cradle also uses full fast-drain mesh for its base which is the same fabric used on Trakker’s Sanctuary Retention Sling V2 which allows water to escape from the cradle to minimise too much of a liquid build up in the material. The frame of the cradle also has a high-density foam frame for the ultimate protection for the fish as you place them in or out of the cradle.

There are also six height-adjustable options on the legs of the cradle to ensure a comfortable level for not only the angler but the correct level for the fish. Heavier fish will make the cradle material meet the ground and so boosting the frame will help protect the fish more. There are also rotating mud feet on the legs of the frame to keep the cradle level on uneven bankside terrain.

If that was not enough, the cradle includes a large storage pocket for your scales and carp care essentials along with a rubber Carp Care Guide included. The cradle is a fast set-up and pack down option that can be neatly folded away for flat and easy transport in the supplied carry bag.
