Our very own Ross Cleveland, AD Sittingbourne, has recently returned from a very memorable session at Loggies Lake, Kent.
Ross wrote - "After arriving at the venue I noticed the wind was hacking into one end of the lake, so it seemed a good place to start, I thought the fish would probably be following it rather than sitting on the back of it as it was fairly mild. The swim I opted for gave me plenty of choice too, I was able to fan the rods out over quite a large area, covering most of the water in front of me"
Tackling up with his favourite Stiff Hinge Rigs and Milky Toffee 'Goo-ed' pop-ups, Ross introduced a bit of bait over all three spots and started to get settled for the evening, unaware of the carnage that was going to ensue!
Ross wrote - "As soon as the bait went in I started to get some indications on my alarms, I'd definitely made the right swim choice as there was obviously fish in the area! I think I had my first fish after around an hour and just as I was playing it another rod went off, resulting in two fish in the net at the same time!"
Not that Ross knew it at the time, but these two fish (10lb and 16lb) would turn out to be the smallest of the session! As day turned to night the bites just kept coming.
Ross wrote - "It really was crazy, so hectic! I kept the bait going in and the fish just kept responding! I ended up having to re-stock with more hemp and at one point on the Saturday I reeled in for a few hours just to try and get some sleep! By the time Sunday morning arrived I felt completely knackered, but it had been totally worth it!
In total Ross managed an incredible 30 fish, with five over 30lb and 23 over 20lb, with 18 of them over 25lb! He also went through a whopping 10kg of corn, 8kg of hemp and 9kg of Cell boilies!
Ross wrote - "It certainly was a session I'll never forget and perhaps one I'll never experience again, I'm still buzzing from it! I think it also goes to show what a fantastic fishery Loggies is, I'd certainly recommend it to anyone who wanted to catch a few carp!"
