Thursday Focus- Greys Prodigy GT4 Rod 50mm

The Greys Prodigy GT4 is the fourth instalment of the progressive-actioned Prodigy carp rod. Built on the success of previous generations, the GT4 advances the platform further with subtle tweaks to bring the range bang up to date with the latest techniques, furthering your control and enjoyment on the bank. There is little point waiting days for a take if you’re not going to relish the fight when it arrives and with class-leading build quality you can rely on the GT4 to get the job done and make landing your new PB carp more pleasurable. Whether you’re a regular at your local commercial, prefer an expansive park lake or a deep pit, the Prodigy range has proven successful on all manner of venues and caters to every anglers needs.

Take performance up a notch with a completely redesigned, 3K woven Carbon Armour ™ blank, offering a feather-weight, low glare finish. The Prodigy GT4 range features a Fuji DPS 18 reel seat, Fuji are the industry leaders most trusted manufacturer of rod fixtures and fittings, thanks to its durable, high quality products. Complemented by superior Black edition, G-lite SiC guides, your line is protected like never before. SiC, or Silicon Carbide, guides are twelve times harder and one-third lighter than stainless steel guides, generating less heat and lower friction allowing you to cast greater distances with improved accuracy. Coupled with the aforementioned Fuji reel seat, lateral movement will no longer be an issue whilst landing an aggressive fighting carp.

All eight rods in the Prodigy GT4 range come complete with; a full-handled, Japanese shrink-wrapped, rubber grip, a laser-etched, anodized 50mm butt cap, a universal line clip that can be placed anywhere along the blank, a hook-keeper and detachable gimbal.

The Prodigy range is comprised of six, 12ft rod variants, with test curves ranging from 2.75lbs to heftier 3.5lb variants, offering flexibility in terms of casting range and fish-fighting ability. The range also features the choice of a 40mm or 50mm butt ring diameter, emphasising the flexibility and inclusiveness of the Prodigy GT4 range.

For the angler wishing to punch leads and feeders to the horizon, or that far-flung island, the Prodigy 13ft, 3.5lb test curve variant is the rod for you, further enhancing your casting ability without sacrificing the progressive rod action that Greys have become synonymous with.

Completing the range is the 10ft, 3.0lb test curve variant, for those stealthier swims, cloaked in close-knit foliage. Geared as the ultimate small-water carping tool, the 10ft variant is ideal for those close-quarters stalking encounters, or those who favour a spot of boat work.

All eight rods in the range come as a two-piece, maximising space at home, in the boot and on the bank.

If you’re looking to add to your rod arsenal this season, there is no finer choice than Greys Prodigy GT4 range, experience the progressive-actioned formula Greys have been producing without compromise since 1968, for yourself. Hone your double-figure carp playing ability with the industry’s smoothest blank bend, much to the envy of your peers on the bank.
