Summer Bass Fishing – Shane Pullen

This morning I had a lovely email drop in the inbox from AD regular and Sea Angler journalist Shane Pullen, informing me about him and the chaps lastest angling exploits on the South, South/East coast.

The fantastic four, Shane Pullen, Paul Gunner, Big Ja and Darren Mills have been enjoying some superb Bass fishing action, taking some absolute crackers on both baits and lures.

Fishing the waters around Dungeness, the River Thames and Jaywick Sand in Essex they’ve managed lots of fish, with one of the biggest, an absolute cracker of 7lb landed on a lure by Big Ja.

Anyway, as they say a picture paints a thousand words, so here goes…

Here's Big Ja with a lure caught cracker! The fish weighed in at a few ounces over 7lb and was taken on a Savage Gear Cutbait pattern.

One nice fish for Big Ja safely netted, unhooked and returned. Notice the light spinning tackle? Perfect for catching the summer Bass!

Here's Paul Gunner with another lure caught stunner! The fish taking a liking to his 24g Eddystone Eel.

A big black Lugworm bait, rigged on a pennel and ready to be cast into the surf!

A nice schoolie at the waters edge. Notice not much of the big black lugworm bait remains.
