Perch Fishing Rigs, Tips & Tactics

For this latest episode we took the camera’s down to little local Stillwater with the hope of catching a few Perch.

Now Perch have increased in popularity over the past few years and are now becoming a fish that many specimen hunters are trying to target and many anglers would agree, that there’s no better sight than a big Stripey.

With there new found fame, we received many questions and requests about filming a video on them, with people wanting to know more about rigs, baits and tactics etc So this is what we decided to do.

Now first of all, we aren’t Perch fishing masters and with Steve being predominately a match angler the tactics he uses are more that way inclined, so we don’t preach gospel, but offer just one way on how you can fish and hopefully catch them!

We knew the lake we were fishing contained Perch to around 1lb, having previously caught them by accident when Tench fishing, but other than that the stock was a mystery, I guess we were secretly hoping for a fish of 2lb though.

Armed with two rods, some Lobworms, Prawns and Maggots we started fishing early, to try and make the most of the morning period. To find out exactly how we got on, you can watch the video below...
