Fishing For Big Roach On The River

For this latest episode we head to the tidal river Yare to try and target a few big Roach on the feeder.

Normally at this time of year the fish would be off the main river and holed up in boat yards and small dykes, however with the unseasonably mild weather they haven't needed to move.

With reports extremely encouraging, with other anglers reporting larger numbers of fish with an excellent average weight, fish to over 1lb hadn't been uncommon, we decided to head down there for ourselves to see if we could get in on the action; the target being a Roach or two over 1lb.

Now, as the Yare is a deep, fast flowing tidal river the most effective way to fish it, is with the feeder. In certain conditions and at certain times of the year you can fish a pole and flat float, or even a pole feeder, but for these big roach the feeder is most successful.

To find out exactly how we got on and to perhaps find out a few tips along the way, watch this latest instalment, from the waters edge.
